As compare to ZnTMP, the Soret bands of these three zinc porphyrin do not shift in wavelength, and Qbands only slightly, indicating small perturbation to the porphyrin groud state electronic configuration when the dendritic triarylamine substituents were bonded to zinc prophyrins. To the first-generation zinc prophyrin, the porphyrin ring first oxidized. It’s quite different to the second-and third-generation zinc porphyrin, in which the dendritic triarylamine substituents were oxidized first. From the studies in UV/Vis/NIR spectroelectrochemistry, we can easily confirm each electrochemical reactions happened at porphyrin ring or at substituents.
