The most common type of primary degenerative dementia is Alzheimer's type dementia (Alzheimer's Disease, AD). The features are memory and cognitive impairment, and this study is to use complex aerobic exercise training intervention study for the effectiveness of cognitive ability. Objective: Examine the cognitive effect of the complex aerobic exercise training against Alzheimer-type dementia in elder people. Methods: Subjects are to be elder people diagnosed of mild to moderate Alzheimer's type dementia. The experimental group contains 11 people, and control group contains 7 people. The complex aerobic exercise training program lasts for eight weeks. This study uses Cognitive Abilities Screening InstrumentI before and after training to test whether there is significance influence to the subjects. Results: (a) Complex aerobic exercise intervention for long-term and short-term memory have no significant effect. (b) Complex aerobic exercise intervention for attention and orientation capability have no significant effect. (c) Complex aerobic exercise intervention for abstract ability, judgment and language ability have no significant effect. (d) Complex aerobic exercise intervention for drawing ability and fluent thinking have no significant effect. Conclusion: The cognitive abilities within the 8 weeks of complex aerobic exercise training on elderly Alzheimer-type dementia have no significant impact. However, the nursing aides and researchers found that there is a positive effect for social study participation and motivation of attending activities.
