Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 工業管理研究所在職專班 === 101 === Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) related issues are often discussed by scholars in recent years, and there are more and more companies interested in enjoying the benefits of PLM, even some first-tier manufacturers have begun to phase in the PLM applications. However, some ERP system suppliers also sense the needs of customers, and integrate PLM into their systems. From this, industries are paying more and more attentions on PLM applications. PLM’s main scope is about products; hence, it is comprised of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and their interlocking and integration. The main purpose of PLM is to shorten products design and development duration and further to speed up their debut time to markets in order to obtain market share and gain higher profits. After that, to make products withdrawn from the markets at the right time for reducing any related expense caused by the declination of products. However, the initial concept of PLM is based on the direct end products selling to consumers. Therefore, the applications of PLM system are mostly used so far on the enterprises which produce end products, and rarely found in components or materials companies in the supply chain. For this reason, this study takes touch panel industries for example to explore applications of PLM system on component enterprise in the supply chain, and further to create an applicable PLM system to touch panel industries by the method of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). Through this study, it will enhance companies’ competitiveness and provide directions for them to innovate and will be valuable to their future business development.
