This study aims to explore the influences of personal characteristics of participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition and environmental factors on performances of the competition through self-efficacy, for the purpose of taking participants' psychological aspects and external environmental factors into consideration besides school performances, numbers of certificates, sites, and equipment for future contestant trainings, in hopes of improving students' competition results. To achieve this research purpose efficiently, this study performed a questionnaire survey with the contestants of the Home Economics Student Skill Competition. A total of 350 questionnaires were issued, and 330 were retrieved, among which 15 were invalid and 315 were valid. The response rate was 90%. Then SEM was conducted to test various hypotheses. According to the results of this study, the research results are summarized below: 1. The influence of the personal qualities of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition on their performances in the competition was negative and insignificant. 2. The influence of the personal qualities of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition on their self-efficacy was positive and significant. 3. The influence of the environmental factors of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition on their performances in the competition was positive and significant. 4. The influence of the environmental factors of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition on their self-efficacy was negative and insignificant. 5. The influence of the self-efficacy of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition on their performances in the competition was positive and significant. 6. The personal qualities of the participants of the professional school Home Economics Student Skill Competition had a complete mediation effect on their performances in the competition through self-efficacy. 7.
