Abstract This study aims to understand the current situation of emotional management and conflict management strategy for special education school administration directors, compare the differences among directors' background variables,and analyze the relationship between emotional management and the conflict management strategy. This study surveyed 27 special education schools and used the adopted questionnaires Emotional Management and Conflict Management Strategy for administration directors in special education schools. From those collected 137 questionnaires, 132 samples are valid with applicable rate of 96%. Data of this survey was analyzed by t-tests, One Way ANOVA, Pearson Product-moment correlation, regression model and etc. The results of this study were as follows: 1.The performance in emotional management of administration directors in special education schools are above average. 2.Different teaching experience and administrational experiences of administration directors in special education schools have significant differences in emotional management. But there are no significant differences in sex, age , position, school scale and school history. 3.Conflict management of administration directors in special education schools are above average. Most administration directors often employ the cooperative management strategy, and seldom directors employ the avoiding strategy. 4.Different sex, teaching experiences and administration experiences of administration directors in special education schools have significant differences in conflict management strategy. But there are no significant differences in different age , position, school scale and school history . 5.Administration directors in special education schools have low positive correlation between emotional management and conflict management strategy. 6.Some parts of administration directors' emotional management have significant predictability on the conflict management strategy, especially on the variables of “management of interpersonal relations” 、“personal growth” . According to the conclusions of this study, suggestions are provided to educational authorities, special education schools, administration directors in special education schools, and further studies.
