碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 電機工程學系 === 101 === Abstract
Halogen bulbs are currently utilized as light sources of motorcycle
headlamps with the electrical specifications of 12V/55W for low beam and
12V/60W for high beam, respectively, and MR(Multi-Reflector) is adopted
for the reflector of the optical system. However, the energy consumption of
Halogen bulbs does not meet the world trend of energy conservation and
carbon reduction. The study proposes and develops a LED headlamp system
for heavy motorcycle. In the system, four high-power LEDs are used as light
source in high beam mode with a power consumption of 12W, which is estimated
as 80% energy-saving comparing to traditional bulbs. In low beam
mode, two LED bulbs are switched on with power consumption of 6W,
which is estimated as 89% energy-saving comparing to traditional bulbs.
The proposed optical system for motorcycle headlamp is simulated and
analyzed through optical software to meet the American standard of FMVSS
108. The headlamp reaches a maximum luminous intensity of 52740 cd at
the test point of 1D-V. Moreover, because of the hermetic space of the headlamp,
in which the thermal interface is usually 150℃, heat dissipation of
LEDs is another focus of the study. To ensure the life of the lamp, the heat
generated from LEDs is radiated effectively by the heat flow simulation
software with the combination of mechanical design and heat sink fin. After
the experiment, the temperature of developed motorcycle headlamp is below
120℃, which meets the requirement of LED thermal interface.
