| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 歷史學研究所 === 101 === This paper studies the popular magazines from 1900 to 1911 as the central discussion, Qing popular press to form a popular public enlightenment lower educational materials, vernacular Illustrated generally classified as vernacular newspapers, popular magazines, newspapers and public affairs of three categories. Late on the occasion, the Government, the intellectuals advocating save China, therefore, the traditional new elite, missionaries run from popular press, the original Shanghai to set up all kinds of newspapers published by the Beijing government formally managed, while Beijing has become the center newspaper. Beijing publishing newspapers in the traditional school, the Government's position based, and its various regional newspapers with local color, and the publication of newspapers and periodicals published in Beijing, rather only among Shanghai publishing newspapers, popular since the Opium War to maintain the original newspapers, vernacular newspapers tradition, and cultural and social background of Shanghai and Beijing slightly different, so the situation is bound to set up popular Illustrated newspaper with Beijing impact.
