Once an elementary teacher, he founded Taiwan’s first choir, the Fuxing Elementary School Choir and since 1957, they were champion of Taipei Children Choral Competition three times. Under the influence and call of Lu Chuan-Sheng, the “Father of Taiwan’s Children Choir”, Lin began his career in developing choir education. Due to his efforts, the roots of choral music gradually flourish in Taiwan. Many choirs, whether professional or amateur, appear rapidly and the whole choir level escalated to international standard. Lin, Fu-Yu deserves all the credit for these achievements. There are more than a hundred choral works of Lin, all kinds form treble, women to mix voices. One kinds of the works have a unique way of expression is children rhyming folksong. It is popular among elementary school choirs and even till today, there are still many concerts and choral competitions that perform his works. This study is focus on his fourteen choral works of Taiwan children rhyming folksongs. There are five chapters of this study. The first chapter is for motivation and objective research methods, and the literature review. The second one is about the origin and developments of children rhyming song. It elaborates the evolution and innovation form the time of Kingdom of Tungning to nowadays. The third chapter is the brief biography and music works of Lin, Fu-Yu. Chapter fourth is the analysis of music and the discussion of the conducting interpretations about the fourteen choral works. So that will help us doing better while conducting. The fifth chapter is the conclusion. It provides the specific suggestions and reflections from above as a reference of teaching practice to help the development of Taiwan choral education.
