Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育行政與管理學系 === 101 === According to traditional practices in Taiwanese elementary schools, students’ opinions are rarely included in the textbook selection process, while they are the real users of the textbooks. For the purpose of exploring the possibility of student’s participation in this process, this study tries to establish a textbook selection procedure for the learning area of science and technology that not only opinions of teachers’ and students’ but also parents’ as well can be taken into consideration. Therefore the textbook selection process can be improved and the best interest for teachers, students and parents can be attained.Adopting focus groups as the major method, the study was conducted by interviewing subjects and analyzed related literature from native and foreign sources. The parent-teacher-student joint textbook selection consideration planning table was produced after the discussion of the focus groups and Interpretive Structural Modeling(ISM)were conducted. The table made accordingly would be used in the textbook selection process of science and technology area in the years to come. The focus groups comprise parent representatives, teachers and 4th-6th graders. Interviews, data analysis and the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)were conducted during January and March 2012. The conclusions drawn from the study are as followed: 1. Among 12 factors taken into consideration, the degree of readability and comprehensibility of the textbooks is identified as most important. 2. The weighted value of readability and comprehensibility of textbook is 19.5% after applying weights allocation of the factors in the AHP. 3. The checklists of textbook selection could be created with the analysis of the ISM and focus groups interviews. 4. Consensus among teachers, students and parents could be better built when all of them participating in the construction of the checklists of textbook selection. 5. It’s educationally inspirational as well as meaningful that the possibilities of participation of students and parents are created in the process of textbook selection. Suggestions are offered according to the conclusions drawn from the study.
