| Summary: | 碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學系 === 101 === The local poetry works composed by Wu Sheng display an extreme solid and clear status in such obscure literary darkness; on the one hand, it was shaped from diversity of background in the times, on the other hand, it was Wu Sheng’s personal life choices. Historical background is a solid fact, which cannot be doubted and speculated, but value exists if we explore meaning of life behind any individual choice. In the Study herein, the sense of questions was focused herewith: How could a teacher who lives in the countryside become a local poet with such achievement? How does a local poet be on the way to social care? What was the kind of belief that Wu Sheng can adhere to environmental protection and social care? What kind of spark of life that Wu Sheng brings by combining three roles of life, teachers, writers and farmers? What kind of nourishing element of life and belief does he rely on to look into death fearless and leisurely? How does value and meaning of life that Wu Sheng brings with his poetry lead us to think about the value and meaning of life?
This Study pointed at the core of life and switched the transform in Wu Sheng’s life span throughout the vertical view and presented the significance behind mankind and things in the life as a whole, along with exploration of the depth of life; the horizontal view poses Wu Sheng’s fortuity of life and demonstrates space of life. In addition, topic of "death" was added into the exploration to complement integrity and continuity of life. Finally, five life elements with significance were concluded: "lonely", "love", "literature", "natural", and "heritage"; loneliness comes with trials of life; love comes with faith of life; literature is essence sublimed from the life; natural originated from life regression and inheritance continues the life.
The poetry works composed by Wu Sheng depict the most realistic look of rural Taiwan, where they display his care and expectation in the Taiwan society; Wu Sheng poetry records historic progress of his exploration of life and review, which shows not only traces of individualized life, but also an affectionate dialogue between a man with the times.
