Summary:碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學系 === 101 === Career planning is part of the curriculum in the vocational high school education in Taiwan. Using picture books as a supplement in teaching, this study examines whether picture books help vocational high school students have a better understanding in the future career planning. Participants are divided into two groups. Nonequivalent pretest-posttest designs are used to analyze students’ responses to the four categories in The Revised Youth Life Adaption Inventory : (1) social adjustment; (2) value belief; (3) career orientation, and (4) positivity and spontaneity. Besides quantitative research, the study also making use of the feedback sheets and interviews students to know if they feel the lesson has any influence on their career planning. The results from The Revised Youth Life Adaption Inventory indicate that reading picture books doesn’t have prominent effect on students’ career planning. Yet, it has a positive effect on the experimental group.
