The study is carried out by deep interviewing three traditional Buddhist Chaplain. Results are listed below: The cultivation of life quality of Buddhist Chaplain. (A) Life cherishing resulted from native environment. (B)Observed in work the uniqueness of the ability to survive. (C) Discovered the value of life in Buddhism. Buddhist Chaplains learned in assisting dying the meaning of life which is mutually beneficial. (A)The concept and relationship of assist dying. a.The concept of death can lead dying person away from fearing death and remind the hope to another life. The family and public can also learn convenient ways to plan for death. b.Buddhist Chaplains thinks that the relationship with the dying person is based on trust, which helps dying assistance. (B)Problems in assisting dying a.Problems in the process of assistance (a) Some dying people have wishes yet to fulfill, pities, regrets, can’t let go. (b) Family support to assist dying can influence the process of assist dying. b.Methodologically, Buddhist Chaplains thinks calling Buddha is the best way to assist dying, simple names of Buddha can help dying people calm down and give away peacefully. c. Technically, Buddhist Chaplains need to notice the distance to the dying people and his volume. His tone needs to be gentle and soft to give dying people peace in heart and head to another world. (C)Concept of death when assisting dying. a.Stay calm when facing death. Use everyday life as the perceived object of meditateon. b.Through the concept of death established by assisting dying, calling Buddha daily and receive merciful acceptance of Buddha when dying to achieve mutually beneficial benefit. The meaning of life learned by Buddhist Chaplain through assist dying. (A)Live and death is a test of forever learning of life. (B)Life is eternal learning. (C)Learn that the meaning and value of life in monasticism is on the road of Bodhisattva, which is mutually beneficial. This article proposes practical suggestion according to the conclusion of this study. Increase the variety of training Buddhist Chaplains on assist dying, promote the consulting education on death issues, and enhance the education on helping family overcome grief in case of “unpredicted death” for Buddhist Chaplains as the reference to help real clinic care.
