Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 客家文化研究所 === 101 === Tutigong, Earth God, played an extremely important role in the algricultural cultivation history in Taiwan. People always call Fude Zhengshen Tutigong. Whereas, Hakka people call Fude Zhengshen “bagˋ gungˊ”and call his temple as “bagˋ gungˊ haˊ”. Based on the above evidence, Hakkanese regard Fude Zhengshen as a god and as a close relative with familiarity. In the process of the interviews in the thesis, the results show that the role of Tutigong for Hakkanese is not just a belief for god. It is internalized as a kind of respect and dependence to a senior in a family. Shang–He bagˋ gungˊ in Wanluan Village has provided “Folk Therapy”(mun sii)in the recent decades; whereas there is no such service in the other bagˋ gungˊ haˊ. The findings supports that there is a psychic in Wanlun Village has karma relations in the previous life with Shang–He bagˋ gungˊ. Therefore, the psychic chose to help “people who are interested in” the service to find solutions to their problems in life. Instead of studying religions, the thesis aimed to invegistate and discuss the reflections for belief based on the concepts of folk customs, history, and society of Tutigong. Through in-depth interviews with the psychic and individuals who receive the service, the cases were discussed. The reasons, process, and results of the service are documented and analyzed. The relations among human beings, ghosts, gods, and ancestors were under investigation based on the physic and the cases’perspectives. Several scholors regard “Folk Therapy” as a kind of ethnomedicine. There has been no scientific evidence for the service so far. However, there are still people participating in the“Folk Therapy”. By collecting data and analyzing the cases, this thesis discussed the reasons why Hakkanese in Wanlun need the “Folk Therapy” when they are “not feeling good”(mˇ songˋ kuai). After the “Folk Therapy”, the changes to the participants, god, ancestors, and ghosts are also discussed in the thesis. The findings reveal that there is a unique spacial order for human beings, ghosts, gods, and ancestors respectively. The spacial order influences human beings life styles and even community relations from ancient time to nowadays. “Folk Therapy” has certain level of influence and help on human beings physchologically and physically. The relations among human beings, ghosts, gods, and ancestors complement one another. No one is superior or inferior to another. “To hold good thoughts” is the central idea. Ghosts and gods are invisible to human beings. “To hold good thought”leads people back to human nature, leads meaningful interactions between the society and the nature, and brings all lives and things in the universe in co-existence and in harmony.
