All subjects were recruited from Grade 6 in Ruei-Fong elementary in Kaohsiung. The thirty-two subjects were divided into experimental group of 16 students (eight boys, eight girls) and control group of 16 students (eight boys, eight girls). The Experimental group was received 40 minutes each, tug-of-war training 10 times a week for a period of 12 weeks of tug-of-war training; the control group was not trained. Body composition and individual pulling were measured before and after training and single-factor analysis of covariates tests before and after the test score differences, significance level α =.05. Results:The body composition (skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, percent body fat, abdominal obesity degree, BMI, trunk lean mass, right leg lean mass, left leg lean mass, mineral mass, skeletal lean mass, fat free mass, basal metabolic rate, BMC, height, weight) were not significantly different from the control group. But the individual pulling of experimental group were significantly different from the control group. The conclusion was that 12-week Tug-of-war training increase their individual pulling, but it couldn’t change their body composition. Lin, Juihsing 林瑞興 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 55 zh-TW
