Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育行政研究所 === 101 === ABSTRACT In this thesis, I focus on the elementary school teachers’ comprehension of the current status about principals’ transformational leadership and school effectiveness. The research is based on a survey carried out among public elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung. I also study how the management performance varies according to the elementary school teachers from different backgrounds with regard to the above issue. In addition, I explore all other aspects about the principals' transformational leadership and school effectiveness. This study used questionnaires to collect data from public elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung, and the scale “A Research on Kaohsiung Elementary School Principals' Transformational Leadership and the Relationship Between School Effectiveness” was used as a research tool. I used a stratified random sample questionnaire check and sent out 621 copies. I received 613 copies back, a returning rate of 98%. There are 585 effective samples, an effective rate of 94%. Based on the collected data, I performed data processing and statistical analysis using averages, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. On the basis of the analysis results, the following observations are made: 1. the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung have a positive view, at a level of above average, toward the leadership performance with regard to principals' transformational leadership. The performance is considered good in all aspects. 2. the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung have a positive view, at a level of above average, toward school management efficacy. The performance is considered good in all aspects. 3. male teachers, concurrently holding a position of Director or Chief, as well as subject teachers in a school of “13-24 classes” or “25-36 classes,” have a more positive view toward principals' transformational leadership. 4. male teachers in rural or remote areas, concurrently holding a position of Director or Chief, as well as subject teachers in a school of “13-24 classes,” have a more positive view toward school effectiveness. 5.the transformational leadership of the elementary school principals in Kaohsiung and school management efficacy are closely related. 6. principals' transformational leadership enables the prediction of school management efficacy, with "charisma effects" and " encouragement and inspiration" having the most powerful effect on overall school performance. Finally, the researchers made several recommendations based on conclusions for the unit of reference and future researchers. Keywords: transformational leadership, school effectiveness, school administration
