In his opinions, China is under threat instead of being a threat itself. What China has done is to make a response to external threat. In fact, there are still lots of problems deeply rooted in China’s domestic situation, including the anxiety of the collapse of socialism and so on. The most notable contribution is that Byong Moo Hwang develops “Three Impulses” to analyze China’s security. “Three Impulses” mixed the special historical background of China and the characteristics of China’s leaders. They are historical impulse, revolutionary impulse, and socialist impulse. “Three Impulses” helps us discover the factors which take effect during the China’s decision-making. The thesis tries to use “Three Impulses” to be the main structure of all the analysis. In addition to introducing the origins and development of each impulse, the thesis will choose some historical events to verify the validity of “Three Impulses.” At last, the thesis will discuss the limitation of the application of “Three Impulses.” Chih-yu Shih 石之瑜 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 154 zh-TW
