Hence, healthcare facilities all wish to develop and utilize information technology and resources to enhance competition of the healthcare industry. Radiofrequency technology can be used in everyday healthcare practice in preventing treatment errors, detecting adverse events, and improving patient safety. Through the active import of electronic labels, combined with radiofrequency identification (RFID) system, and utilizing environmental position tracking as guidance, we can actively provide thorough identification and continuous tracking to oversee and control the babies’ location during rooming in. If we can understand the acceptance rate of the RFID system in maternal-child safety care of postpartum women, there should be a positive influence in the application and promotion of RFID in health care. In this study, convenient sampling with questionnaire was used and data were collected in one medical center in the northern part of Taiwan from November 2012 to January 2013. Post-partum women who used the RFID system for maternal-child care were recruited and the final sample size was 81. The research questions are the following (1) for those postpartum women who used the RFID system, whether the demographics would affects the perceived rooming in and maternal-child care quality, (2) for those postpartum women who used the RFID system, whether the perceived technology acceptance or physical risks could affect the perceived rooming in or maternal-child care quality, and (3) what are the postpartum women’s perception toward the RFID system. This study is based on the technology acceptance model proposed by Davis (1989), with the addition of physical risk as a new concept. This study showed that there is no significant findings among demographics, the acceptance of the RFID system, and maternal-child care quality. Regarding the occupational properties of the postpartum women, those who are in the sales and marketing industry expected more concerns in physical risks than those in administration or being housewives. The RFID system used in rooming in had an above average rating in maternal-child care quality. Furthermore, most postpartum women are highly satisfied with the quality of care. There are significant relationship among quality of maternal-child care, technology acceptance rate, and physical risks; and these relevance could predict a positive behavioral intention and high level of system reliability to improve the quality of maternal-child care. From the open-ended questions, suggestions were as the following: smaller and more convenient RFID tags, but less likely to slip or be taken off. There shouldn’t be any doubt on the physical safety of the RFID, and for the system management and alert device can be activated anytime, and can be connected to each parent’s cell phone or laptop. It is hoped in the future, healthcare industries can provide a safer, more diverse service in the application and development of RFID. Lee, Tingting 李亭亭 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 62 zh-TW
