Fourteen preschool children from New Taipei City and Taipei City were recruited in the study. The children with final nasal deletion were paired according to their age and language abilities and assigned to either experimental group or control group. Training exercises are conducted for 8 weeks. The training procedures for the experimental group and control group are similar. Stimuli for the experimental group was acoustically modified, whereas the stimuli for the control group was not. Treatment outcomes were discussed based on the percentage of nasal coda correct, the occurrence of nasal coda deletion, and number of treatment sessions. Results indicated that both groups had significant increase in percentage of nasal coda correct and decrease in occurrence of nasal coda deletion in words and spontaneous speech context. The experimental group showed greater improvements in percentage of nasal coda correct and less occurrence of nasal coda deletion in words, but no significant change in spontaneous speech context. A significant limitation was the relatively small number of participants involved in each group. In addition, the error patterns exhibited by children affected the time required. In sum, this study suggests that the treatment of acoustically amplified nasal coda has better treatment effects in words. TORNG,PAO-CHUAN 童寶娟 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 81 zh-TW
