It has the pretty of fantasy and the interest of game not only enlightening child’s imagination but also exciting creation. Imagination is the foundation of creation leading children to enter the world of fantasy beyond the reality by the author of fairy tale. So that, children can experience the different situations to expand their vision and outskirt the world of reality to satisfy their curiosity and to enlighten imagination. The quality of imagination has profound and lasting influence for child’s imagination and creation to show its importance in the elements of fairy tale. Therefore, this research will focus the subject of the quality of imagination in fairy tale.
Mandarin Daily News has conducted Mu Di Awards for the purpose of encouraging the local writers and awaking the aware consciousness and promoted the vigorous rise in the modern production of fairy tale for ten sessions. This research will focus the creative works in Mu Di Awards of Fairy Tale because of its representative in order to explore the characteristics of imagination and modern in this set works.
This research will adopt the analysis method of document and text from taking the works in Mu Di Awards of Fairy Tale as the research text against the fantasy themes, fantasy in time and space, fantasy roles, and furthermore exploring the characteristics of imagination under the analysis of the expressive types and the artistic symbols.
There are three parts in this research results from the works in fairy tales of Mu Di Awards as followings. In the part of time and space, there are the imaginative elements in the world of reality and the imaginative characteristics in the world of fantasy by the pattern of passing in and out between the world of reality and fantasy. In the part of roles, the real roles express the fantasy characteristics, but the imaginary roles play not only the imagination but also the reality. In the part of themes, they are divided into five scopes including the innovation of the old folk tales, the transition of the scientific knowledge, the developing of the growth topic, the reflection of the real society and the concern of the natural environment.
There are two parts in the quality of imagination followed by the expressive types and the artistic symbols. In the part of the expressive types, there are neo-myth, magic and scientific fantasy. In the part of the artistic symbols, they are appeared by the form of evil spirit, alluring woman, monster, celestial, ghost and devil. It shows the fantasy and imaginative characteristics during the strange trip as a result and affect. The quality of imagination in Mu Di Awards of Fairy Tale has the pretty of fantasy and the interest of game enrich the reading vision for the modern child because of the value of diversity and the contemporary worth under the transform in time and space, the invention in role and story.
