Application of the logic model in exploring the process of Max Liu’s Centenary Birthday Memorial Activity

碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 科學應用與推廣學系環境教育及管理碩士班 === 101 === Max Liu, an electrical engineer who dabbled in the so many areas like art, literature, anthropology and environment protection, also contributed a lot and made a big impact on those areas. This paper mainly talks about the Greenway Educational Promotion Activity and the Special Memorial Exhibition of Max Liu’s Centenary Birthday. It is the first time that Max Liu’s families worked as the main organizers at the centenary birthday of Mr. Liu and thus these two activities had a colossal meaning. Therefore, what things should the families input in their first time of organizing and what’s the output? What effects would these activities have on the participants? The researcher talks about these questions by the means of interview, content analysis and participatory observation. At the same time, this paper shows the process and influence of the two activities and gets to know the situation they have encountered and the results of these activities. The results of the study are as follows: 1. In terms of the situation, the families of Max Liu use centenary birthday in memory of Mr. Liu to organize some commemorative activities and wish to express the multielement which can show his concern for the education and public welfare. 2. In terms of the input, the human and financial resources are rich and thus all these contribute to the great effects of the output and the result. 3. In terms of the output, the output activities of these two activities are multivariant and the participants can come to know Mr. Liu through various levels and perspectives. 4. In terms of the outcome, in the short term, the two activities reach their goals which are learning the life and spirits of Mr. Liu; in the middle term, the participants can be inspired by the spirits of Mr. Liu; in the long term, because of the encouragement of Max Liu’s spirits, the participants would like to do something good about the environment in the future. 5. In terms of the external influence, these two activities both include some investments which are unexpected and these investments exert positive effects on the achievements. 6. In terms of the other research findings, there are many difficulties in the process of the organization. All these problems are successfully overcame by the organizers and the workers for they have come up with a consensus. These two activities are highly estimated among the citizens and many constructive suggestions which are helpful for the similar activities are put forward. The conclusion of the research is that the process of the Greenway Educational Promotion Activity and the Special Memorial Exhibition of Max Liu’s Centenary Birthday are totally organized by the relatives and families of Mr. Liu. Without the assistance of any public or private working units, it is really difficult for them to organize such big activities and they also provide a good method for the various ways of environment education.
