Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 河海工程學系 === 101 === The purpose of this thesis in order to study the suitability on the selection of ir-regular wave train for irregular wave tests, this study extends the researches of Chen(2004), Twu(2005), Lee(2011), and Tsai(2012) to explore the subject via hy-draulic model test on a wave flume and numerical simulation of irregular wave trains. JONSWAP spectrum modified by Goda with different peak enhancement factor together with specific wave height and period and random initial phase shifts of component waves was engaged in the experiments. The results show that due to the random nature of irregular waves, the suitable irregular wave train selected for experiment for engineering planning and design should be evaluated beforehand which is because the coastal engineering work might be either frequency sensitive, or largest wave height sensitive, or excess large wave group sensitive.
