Disabled Children in Elementary Schools 國小身心障礙兒童家長堅毅性格、親職壓力與身心健康之相關研究 Wei Chang 掌薇 碩士 國立臺北教育大學 心理與諮商學系碩士班 101 The purpose of this study was to explore the hardiness, parenting stress and psychosomatic health for parents with disabled children in elementary schools and the relations among these three variables. The analysis of differences across various demographic variables and the prediction of psychosomatic health by hardiness and parenting stress were further conducted. This study adopted a questionnaire survey. Participants in this study were parents whose disabled children studied in elementary schools in Taipei city and New Taipei city. They were invited to complete “Hardiness Scale”, “Parenting Stress Scale”, and “Adult Mental Health Scale”. A total of 248 valid questionnaires were analyzed by description statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé’s method, Pearson’s correlation analysis and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1.Parents with disabled children in elementary schools had medium level of hardiness, felt medium level of parenting stress, and mild psychosomatic problem. 2.The hardiness of parents with disabled children in elementary schools differed according to the jobs and the family’s monthly income. 3.The parenting stress of parents with disabled children in elementary schools differed according to the gender and the family’s monthly income. 4.The psychosomatic health of parents with disabled children in elementary schools differed according to the gender, number of children, jobs, the family’s monthly income, the age of children, the classification of disability and the degree of disability. 5.Correlation between parent’s hardiness, parenting stress and their psychosomatic health were found significant. 6.The hardiness and parenting stress were significant in predicting their psychosomatic health.
