Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 教育傳播與科技研究所 === 101 === In recent years, reading education is received considerable attention. The related research papers are published increasingly, but mostly are based upon the traditional teaching mode. However, as the computer technology and the Internet are available to all, information technology as a tool for teaching methods gradually is taken seriously. This study adopted a quasi-experimental method to investigate two classes of 5th grade elementary students in Taoyuan County; respectively, one is the experimental group and the other is the control group. The courses lasted for ten weeks. The experimental group experienced teaching activities with the use of Google Docs integrated into the summarization strategy of reading comprehension; nevertheless, the control group finished the learning sheet with the software Microsoft Office Word of standalone. After treatment, the post-test of reading comprehension was held to understand the effectiveness of students' reading comprehension; and further, it explored the relevance of students’ summarization capability and PIRLS reading progress. Additionally, "The Questionnaire of Students’ Feedback about Cloud Service Integrated into Summarization Strategy Instruction" was conducted to collect the data of students’ attitudes about the activities on the experimental group. Specially, the researcher’s observation, teaching videos and students’ interviews were to enrich qualitative data. Finally, based on findings, some specific suggestions for future research and teachers in the use of Cloud Computing integrated into reading instruction were provided. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Google Docs service integrated into summarization strategy instruction could enhance students' reading comprehension. (2) Google Docs service integrated into reading comprehension instruction could enhance students' summarization capability and students' abilities of analysis, interpretation, inference and integration in the processes of reading comprehension. (3) The students' attitudes toward Google Docs service integrated into the reading summarization strategy for learning were positive. And the software is fit for conducting group discussion and learning.
