The questionnaires were distributed and collected from the children`s mother at the elementary preschools in Taoyuan County. The random sampling was used to select 642 children including 192 immigrant children and 458 native-born children. 597 questionnaires were distributed and 538 useable sam- ples were obtained. This study used self-developed questionnaires to collect the data. This study data were analyzed by Descriptive Statistic, Independent Sample t-test, One- way ANOVA, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results were as follows: (1)The overall child are well on the preschool life adjustment, nonimmigrant children are more significant than immigrants on the preschool life adjustment. (2) Immigrant and nonimmigrant children are well in the routine adaptation, followed by learning adaptations, and the most need to strengthen is interpersonal adaptation. (3)Girls and 5-year-old class performed better in routine adaptation and interpersonal adaptation; there is no significant difference in residence and participate in after-sch- ool care. (4)Mothers and teachers often communication with face-to-face and higher frequency, their children are better in Learning adaptations and interpersonal adaptation. (5) There are significant predictive effect in the extent of Chinese in reading, the gender of children, attending classes, and parent-teacher communication frequency. (6) The better of the interpersonal adaptation, the better of routine adaptation and learning adaptations in immigrant and nonimmigrant children.
