Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 101 === This thesis mainly focuses on research into the significance of the Buddhist choral suite “A Mountainous Debt of Gratitude to Parents”, composed by Hwang Yah-tai. Further, it provides not only interpretation to the performers but also reference to the teachers and researchers. What comes first is the literature review of Hwang Yau-tai’s background information so as to appreciate his composing style and characteristics at each stage and to understand the content and essence of his music.In addition, to make Hwang’s Buddhist choral suite more comprehensible, the relationship between Hwang and the Buddhism and the Buddhist music he created are discussed. What’s analyzed in consequence includes the music structure of Hwang’s Buddhist choral suite “A Mountainous Debt of Gratitude to Parents” and his composing techniques.It is intended for the final interpretation and the inference from what Hwang Yau-tai revealed in “A Mountainous Debt of Gratitude to Parents.” The findings are used as reference to the development and study of the Buddhist chorus; and furthermore, for the governors. Buddhist chorus educators. and those who aim at composing the Buddhist chorus, a practical proposal is made by the researcher.
