On the contrary, social support is conducive to reduce juvenile delinquency. During adolescence, Peers’ influence getting stronger which becomes one of the most influential social support sources. The technology is getting more and more developed, internet has thus turned into a social support channel. However, is there any difference between offline peer support and online peer support? This study examines the direct- and buffering-effect model of offline and online peer support by hierarchical regression analyses. In total, there are 1,081 valid respondents among Taiwanese students from junior high school, high school and vocational high school in Taipei. The results show that male, older adolescents, who had more life stress, tend to display more external delinquency. Female, older adolescents, who had more life stress, tend to display more internal delinquency. As regards peer supports, although there are overlapping sources between online and offline peer support, the effect of offline peer support is different from online peer support. Girl students who had more offline peer support tend to display less internal delinquency, this result meet the direct-effect model. However, offline peer support had no significant relation with girl students’ internal delinquency and boy students’ inner and external delinquency. On the contrary, online peer support was related positively to boy students’ external delinquency, girl students’ external delinquency and girl students’ internal delinquency. Finally, this study also indicated that offline peer support had a buffering effect on the influence of life stress to girl students’ internal delinquency. However, too much or too little offline peer support will reduce the buffering effect. 魏希聖 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 108 zh-TW
