Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 社會科教育學系碩士班 === 101 === The present study is to design and develop an instructional plan of integrating teachers’ self-edited picture books for life education into guide writing instruction. This instructional plan utilizes picture books for life education to guide the implementation of writing instruction. This study investigates the influences of the instructional plan on third and fourth grade elementary school students’ views about their life values and the influences on their writing performances. This study adopted the action research approach. The subjects were ten third and fourth grade elementary school students. This study selected some picture books related to life education as reading materials; and then designed the instructional plan of integrating pictures books for life education into guide writing instruction. Before the plan was implemented, the subjects were asked to write two compositions for two different topics. The two compositions served as the baseline for assessing a subject’s writing performance. Subsequently, the instructional plan of integrating picture books for life education into guide writing instruction were implemented for eight times. After the writing instruction was implemented eight times, the subjects’ compositions before and after implementing the instructional plan were analyzed according to a writing assessment scale. The contents of the subjects’ compositions were also analyzed to understand their views about life values. The results of the study were as follows: 1.The selected picture books for life education are applicable to guide writing instruction. 2.The selected picture books for life education can give the students positive life values. 3.The instructional plan of integrating picture books for life education into guide writing instruction for third and fourth grade elementary school students can improve student writing performances. Finally, according to the results of the study, suggestions were proposed to provide useful information for designing instructional plans of integrating picture books for life education into guide writing instruction, instructional applications, and teachers who are interested in writing instruction.
