Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 101 === This study was to explre the current situation of job stress and its strategies among directors at elementary schools in Yilan County. The purpose of this study ware the following: (1) To explore different personal background variables (such as sex, age, Officer, Director of seniority, marital status, education, professional background, school type and work location) of the status quo of Elementary School Directors’ working pressure. (2)The coping strategies when they faced with work pressure job stress. (3)To investigate the relationship of stress and the ways of dealing with the director of elementary school who with different background and locus of control. This study used questionnaire to survey 198 directors of elementary schools in Yilan county. 193 valid questionnaires of the total 198 questionnaires are expected to be used . The recovery rate is 97%. Collected data is analyzed by Effective average, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson’s product-moment correlation.Also, to explore the different background variables(sex,professional background)and multiple stepwise regression analysis. to conclude as followings: 1. On of feeling moderate degree of pressure for elementary school director , they suffer more , especially on the workloads. 2. The coping strategies of elementary school directors is at medium-high level, “seeking assistant” gets the highest score. 3. “workloads”and ” pressure of Executive”of the director in different size schools reached the level of significance. 4. the higher the job stress was , the more elementary School director generally uses the “Emotional adjustments” of stress coping strategies. 5. The higher “professional knowledge and ability” and “interpersonal relationships” of job stress were , the more the “stress coping strategies ” are used . 6. The more stress the directors suffer in “internal conflict” , the more they adopted coping methods of emotional adjustment. 7. The more stress the directors suffer in “professional knowledge”, the more they adopt coping methods of “problem solving”, “ Rational Thinking”, “ Emotional adjustments” and “stress coping strategies.” 8. The more stress the directors suffer in “interpersonal relationships”, the more they adopt coping methods of“ Emotional adjustments” and “stress coping strategies.” The research wishes to provide advices as well as reference for future researchs for directors of elementary school, principals of elementary school , and education departments in Yilan.
