Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 101 === In Taiwan, we found many researches in influences of students’ (family) background through mediations on their academic achievement. However, there are few people who focus on influences of students from different ethic groups. Used national data collection, this research was aimed to analyze the causal mechanism in influences of (family) background by various capitals on ninth grade Aborigine, Han, and other students’ academic achievement. It was found that the average academic grades of aborigine students were lower than min-nan students. The difference of grades reached up to 10.1 points in which 5.33 points were due to inferior statuses of families, lower expectations from parents, less homework helps in school and in cram school and less educational equipments at home. As the result, the more educational expectations, homework helps and educational equipments they had, the better improvement of their academic achievement they got. Besides, when students’ mothers could pay attention to their homework, it would also contribute to their academic achievement.
