Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 101 === This study aims to examine the relationship between professional development and school effectiveness of elementary schools in Penghu County. The collected dates were analyzed by different perspectives from elementary school teachers of various backgrounds, as well as explore their relationship and pwere of prediction.
This study used a questionnaire survey method, adapted the questionnaire edited by Mei-Yun Chiou(2010). The participants were 390 teachers from 28 public elementary schools in Penghu County. The datas were analyzed by frequency allocation, percentage, average, standard deviation, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé method, Pearson product-moment correlation and Multiple stepwise regression. According to the result of this data analysis, we have categorized the following conclusions:
1. The current condition of professional growth for the elementary schools’ teachers in Penghu County were good. Among the sectional scores, “professional attitude” is the highest and “research and development” is the lowest.
2. The current condition of school effectiveness for the elementary schools’ teachers in Penghu County was above the average. Among the sectional scores, “school culture” is the highest and “public relations” is the lowest.
3. In terms of the overall performance of teacher's professional growth with different background variables, there were no significant differences.
4. Different genders held positions and school scales of elementary school teachers in some school effectiveness, a higher degree of perceived performance level.
5. Professional growth and school effectiveness of elementary schools’ teachers in Penghu County has positive correlation.
6. The professional growth can accelerate the school effectiveness of elementary school teachers; especially “interpersonal communication” is the most effective way.
Finally, based upon the conclusion of the study, recommendations for educational administration, elementary schools, teachers and researchers in the future related research reference.
