The questionnaire survey is taken as the major research method. The participants of the study were 47 paraprofessionals for special education in the elementary school in Kaohsiung. The data was statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis.The major conclusions are as follows: 1.The paraprofessionals for special education in the elementary school in Kaohsiung present a mid-level identification with their job.The major working content of paraprofessionals was “Life Care” and “Assist in Teaching”. 2.The summary results of paraprofessionals for special education in the elementary school in Kaohsiung were partial to dissatisfied slightly. In subscales,”Working Achievement” and “Working Environment” were satisffied,but in “Treatment” and “Education Status” were dis satisfied. 3. Their job satisfaction level varies due to differences in age, arriage ,education level, experience,studines number and seniority. 4. Paraprofessionals’ background do not influence of their job satisfaction. 5.Paraprofessionals’ identification with their position is related to their job satisfaction level. It is hoped that the conclusions of this study can assist educational administrations and the paraprofessionals in policy making and career planning, respectively, as well as research conducted in the future.
