Quite a number of subjects of higher education in Taiwan are not so easy to be classified that makes the evaluation much more difficult, and the applied evaluation criteria currently are almost the same, some experts consider that is not fair. The research aims to probe into the issues of the Second-cycle of higher education evaluation for music subject. The study proceeds with questionnaire survey research. Questionnaire was used after the first draft of the questionnaire design through eight experts, expert validity, issuing 190 pre-test questionnaires,127 returned. The valid response rate was 66%.The independent variable t - test and single factor ANOVA analysis to observe whether there were significant differences, conclusions derived from the data analysis read as follows: 1.The higher education evaluation for music subject contains five major projects. (1)The Objective and Core and Curriculum plan. (2)Teaching and Learning Assessment (3)Student Counselling and Learning Resources (4)Academic and professional performance (5)Graduates with the overall performance of self-improvement mechanism 2. The Second-cycle Program evaluation for music subject have high recognition in Different background teachers. (1)Music Teachers of different professional title have high recognition about“Teachers and students were invited to perform”. (2)Music Teachers of different professional title have high recognition about“Graduates have higher employment opportunities”. (3)Music Teachers of different background have different level of idea. Finally, some suggestions based on the conclusions are proposed to the educational administration authorities, the higher education evaluation for music subject and further studies. 1.For educational administration authorities (1)The second-cycle program evaluation increased more appropriate for music subject (2)This evaluation criteria are based on special for music subject. 2.For the higher education on music subject (1)Self-set standards. (2)Teachers encourage students to participate in the performance (3)The Music Department should help students to express their individual performances. (4)It is necessary for enhance students' cognitive tracking mechanism on graduation and employment opportunities (5)In order to improve employment opportunities for the students so we have to recommend industry and learning collaborative projects. 3.For further studies (1)For evaluation experts and some music teachers can narrow scope of the study. (2)Studied music for subsequent evaluation and accreditation of higher education development. (3)To increase the specificity of the evaluation about the music subject and conduct more in-depth study.
