Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 色彩與照明科技研究所 === 101 === In recent years, the image quality of 3D displays gradually improves. However, many people cannot watch 3D video for a long time due to lack of visual-comfortable 3D contents. Besides, displaying 3D contents under wrong viewing geometry also would induce visual discomfort. Image content plays a very important role on 3D visual comfort. The present study proposes a method to improve visual comfort of stereoscopic 3D displays based on gaze point estimation. In order to reduce the visual discomfort, the contrast and sharpness of unimportant areas are reduced. The result is not sensitive to the accuracy of disparity map. As current techniques cannot estimate the disparity map accurately, the proposed method is a preferred solution for enhancing 3D visual comfort. The results of psycho-visual experiments suggest that reduces the contrast and sharpness of unimportant areas can really improve the 3D visual comfort. In addition, this study proposes an image blurriness detection method to avoid overly blurring the unimportant areas.
