There are six elementary schools established in Wanhua District from Japanese Colonial Period until now, including” Lao Song”, ”Dong Yuan”, ”Long Shan” and ”Shuang Yuan” Elementary schools which were “Public Elementary School” for Taiwanese. As well as “Ximen “ and “Fuxing” Elementary schools which were “Elementary school” for Japanese in the policy of Japanese Colonial. “Elementary school” and “Public Elementary school” transformed to “National Primary school” when Japanese government applied for Kominka Movement(1937-1945). After the National Government who took Taiwan after the World WarⅡ continued to use “National Primary school”. The government applied “Nine-year Compulsory Education” in 1968 and transformed “National Primary school” to “Elementary school”. Some of architectures and outline planning in six schools in Wanhua District have been reserved though experienced hundred years. This paper focused on Wanhua District in Taipei City and the six schools mentioned above from Japanese colonial period until now. According to official documents and school historical files combine with other newspapers, literature and field visits, this paper wants to organize and trace back from the process of historical and architectural development. This paper also discussed the relationship between six elementary schools from past until now not only with difference of land acquisition and the connection of residential development, but also making comparison of distribution between Taiwanese and Japanese in Wanhua Disrtict to analyze the influence for school planning.
