A new topology is proposed based on single-stage flyback converters. A 150-W constant-voltage flyback converter and a 50-W constant-current counterpart are respectively designed. The presented high-power LED streetlamp driver is thus implemented by combining these two converters with parallel-connected input and series-connected output. The operating principles of a flyback converter are firstly analyzed. Design guildlines for the controller and main circuit elements are provided. A prototype converter with 200-W rated output power and 0.7-A rated output current is realized. We proved the capability and good performance of this new topology.
