There isn''t a long-traveling geometric error measurement system technology in the country. In order to enhance the accuracy of machine tools, the paper development of the long-traveling Geometric Error measurement system for long-traveling machine tools. In the effective distance up to 4 meters, this measurement system reproducibility accuracy of the horizontal straightness is 1.47μm and reproducibility accuracy of the vertical straightness is 2μm.This measurement system of reproducibility accuracy for the squareness and parallelism error is 1.8arcsec (3σ) or 8.7μm/1m (3σ).
