The cam mechanism is the main part of this novel design; it can control clutch and shift gear with electrical motor at the same time. In this research, analyzing the existing motorcycle manual transmission shift mechanisms, related patents and reports first. Then proposing the design concept, which clutch and shift gear are controlled by two cams joined on one shaft; it means shift gear and clutch are driven by single input. Based on this design concept, this novel design of motorcycle manual transmission shift mechanism is proposed. For kinematic requirements of shift gear, the cam profile is designed with polynomial curve, and the design boundary condition is achieved by measuring the existing motorcycle. Then the basic dimensions of this new design are identified. Finally, the 3D model is constructed and dynamic simulation is finished. The simulation results shown the novel shift mechanism is satisfied for the motorcycle shift gear requirements. The results of this research are expected an important reference for the design of motorcycle manual transmission shift mechanism. Kuen-Bao Sheu 許坤寶 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 96 zh-TW
