碩士 === 世新大學 === 傳播管理學研究所(含碩專班) === 101 === With the fierce competition raging across international stage today, we have become witnesses to a continuous technological advancement of the mobile phone industry which has transitioned from a functional to a smart platform. In Taiwan, the numbers of smart phone users are multiplying with break-neck speed; and mobile platforms are no longer simple communication devices, they have become a fusion of entertainment, music, photo album with a fully functional camera, net browser with social network connections, etc. The functionalities of smart phones are broadening constantly, consumers no longer look to mobile phones to only call and text messages, more and more people are becoming reliant on the convenience of the mobile phone. Through downloading a wide assortment of apps a user can personalize his/her cell phone to suit their specific needs... a phone is no longer the stereotypical "speaking tube" of the past. Phone bills are still expensive under any service provider, but the cost of extranet and roaming can be saved by using online service providers; we can expect growth in online provider software that assist smart phone users in instant mobile communication. A mobile device is a transportable platform in our everyday life, consumers can communicate with each other as well as texting. But now with 3G or Wi-fi internet service people can connect instantly and even visually with one another, as well as accessing social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, or Wei-Bo to check-in and update on your friends and interact. People also use different apps to stay in touch with friends and colleagues. Indeed, human social interaction has been forever redefined as we are becoming more digitally connected, which will also alter the way we socialize in person... and so our social behavior are evolved as well. Through this research we will discover the intimacy between smart phone user frequency with the growth of online service provider and usage rate. This research has also exposed the different ways of instant communications brought on by the smart phone industry.
