Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 教育領導與評鑑研究所 === 101 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship among the elementary school principals’ competing values leadership, the professional commitment of the teachers, and teachers’ attitude toward teacher evaluation for professional development in Tainan City. Tainan City elementary school teacher for the implementation of the survey research object. There were 455 formal questionnaires sent and 416 valid questionnaires. The effective response rate was 91.4%. Through statistical analysis summarized results are as follows: 1. Teachers perceived principals’ competing values leadership, the professional commitment, and the attitude toward teacher evaluation for professional development are above average. 2. Principals’ competing values leadership showed significant differences in gender, age, position, school size and participation. 3. Teacher’s professional commitment showed significant differences in age, educational background and position. 4. Teachers’ attitude toward teacher evaluation for professional development showed significant differences in position, school size and participation. 5. Between the principals’ competing values leadership, the professional commitment of the teachers, and teachers’ attitude toward tacher evaluation for professional development exhibited significant positive correlation. 6. Principals’ competing values leadership and professional commitment of the teachers are predictive of teachers’ attitude toward teacher evaluation for professional development. 7. Teacher’s professional commitment had the full mediating effect between Principals’ competing values leadership and teachers’ attitude toward teacher evaluation for professional development. Finally, concrete recommendations were made as a reference for the administrative educational authorities, elementary schools, and future researchers.
