The findings can serve as references to the government in future environmental education and energy saving policy. This study was a quantitative research, and used the self-designed “Investigation on the knowledge, attitude and behavior of servicemen regarding global warming, energy saving, and carbon reduction” as the research tool. The staff invistigated was divided into three groups, namely company, group, and squadron. Stratified random proportional sampling was used for questionnaire survey. A total of 450 questionnaires were distributed, and 446 valid samples were retrieved, with a valid return rate of 99.1%. The data were analyzed with SPSS12.0 for descriptive statistics, One-way ANOVA, Fisher’s LSD, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The findings are as follows: 1) the main source of knowledge for servicemen on global warming is governmental promotion, TVs, newspapers, and magazines; 2) the knowledge level of servicemen is above medium level; 3) the attitude of servicemen is mostly positive, but their concern and sense of responsibility over the environment still needs to be improved; 4) in terms of behaviors, the actions taken by servicemen on energy saving and carbon reduction are rather insufficient; 5) the correlations between knowledge and attitude, as well as attitude and action, are low and positive. The suggestions of this study are as follows: 1) the chiefs and seed instructors can be assigned to four-hour environmental education courses every year, and promote the knowledge in the Air Force; 2) military media, such as Ju Guang Garden and Youth Daily News, can be used to promote special reports on global warning, energy saving, and carbon reduction, in order to enhance the correct environmental knowledge of servicemen; 3) annual evaluation and reward can be implemented to encourage commanders to organize field trips, road running, beach cleaning, and other activities during the quarterly officer activities or spare time, in order to enhance the concerns over environmental ecology and responsibilities on reducing global warming of the servicemen. Keywords: global warming, energy saving and carbon reduction, greenhouse effect, knowledge, attitude and behavior. Jen-Jeng Chen 陳振正 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 136 zh-TW
