Only when the existing gender issue in the medical system is examined can current service providers develop gender consciousness. The goal of the current research was to understand medical social workers’ concept of gender roles, explore whether domestic violence victims received different service based on their gender, and compare the services provided by male and female medical social workers. Qualitative methodology was used to conduct the current study. The research participants were selected using snowball sampling, and 10 medical social workers (7 females, 3 males) from medical centers and regional hospitals located in the central and northern Taiwan. The findings suggested that services provided by medical social workers are related to the gender of the victim and the worker’s concept of gender roles. Policy suggestions related to gender equality were provided in the discussion section. Chen, Yingyu 陳嫈瑜 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 147 zh-TW
