Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 經營管理學系碩士班 === 101 === The purpose of this study is to examine the operating performance of the public and private high schools. The study period was from the year of 2008 to 2011, and eight public and private high schools in Hsintien District, New Taipei City were chosen. Data envelopment analysis model (DEA) was used to analyze the efficiency of the comparison of the public and private high schools operating, and to examine the differences in technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. The findings of this study: four out of eight schools reached the overall efficiency value; as “High Performance Schools”, which indicates that the schools have the optimal production and optimal operating efficiency. One out of 8 schools is considered as the strong efficiency unit. Only two are average performance schools, “Poor Performance Schools” must adjust the scale of production in order to improve their operating performance. This study can provide the strategies for not only managing efficiency of the public and private high schools in the future for Hsintien District , New Taipei City in Taiwan but also formulating the educational policy from the viewpoint of government.
