Shortening product on market schedule, demanding prompt customer reply, more and more people turns attention to R&D management of product development, expecting to control changes from project begins, product planning, feasibility assessment, design stage, trial stage, production stage etc. so to allow product on market with opportunity and certain quality. Complete R&D flow is critical, at product design and development activity, through efficient product development speed and competitive R&D flow, to satisfy consumers new product needs.
This research based on Delphi method and AHP to study consumer product’s Mechanical R&D flow’s critical factor, according literature discussion plus professor interviews, summarize product plan capability, ID design capability, Mechanical construction design capability, tooling development capability, supply chain capability and factory production capability 6 dimensions and 28 indicators. Within it, Mechanical construction capability (19.10%) is most critical among Mechanical R&D flow, thus competitive enterprises must emphasis on Mechanical department. design capability and enhance Mechanical RD training. Followed by tooling development capability (17.7%) thus enterprises when evaluating tooling vendors must emphasis on tooling development capability besides price.
