The sample collection method for the street dust according to U. S. EPA AP-42 procedures, which are based on a review of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods C-136. It was found that the silt load are between with ambient TSP. Use linear regression for silt and TSP in each air quality region , the regression equation is y = 39.3500x+ 51.6250 , and R2 = 0.2836 , it is mean that silt load is correlation with TSP . Reduce silt load will also benefit TSP slash . By regression equation , we can know that if silt load decrease 0.1 g/m2 , estimate TSP will decrease 3.935 μg/m3 , at the same time the particulate matters and fine particulate matters will decline . Currently sweeping operations performed are often survey the level of dirt road to determine sweeping frequency , but the level is according to the amount of dust and silt loads to do grading . From the study , we can know if want to decrease ambient PM , we can increased frequency of cleaning and sweeping make silt road down and reduce PM .
