The questionnaire ”Job stress and professional growth needs of junior high school counselors in Yilan County” was used as the research tool and the survey research method was adopted on the 57 counselors of 24 junior high schools in Yilan County. Among 57 counselors, 6 junior high school counselors were chosen randomly for semi-structured interview. 57 questionnaires of the total of 57 copies administered were retrieved and 57 copies of those retrieved were valid; thus, the valid recycling rate reached 100%. Data were established and analyzed through statistic approaches, including percentage, means and standard deviation to explore the present status and differences of job stress and professional growth needs of junior high school counselors in Yilan County. The conclusions of this research were as follows: 1. Junior high school counselor perceptions of job stress were medium and the ”job satisfaction” dimension received the highest scores, while the ”job identification” dimension received the lowest scores. 2. The perception of junior high school counselors who are female, 30-40 years old and specialize in counseling and guidance activity, teach in large and urban school, have administrative work had higher job stress. 3. Junior high school counselor perceptions of professional growth need were rather high and the ”counseling knowledge” dimension received the highest scores, while the ”teaching profession” dimension received the lowest scores. 4. The perception of junior high school counselors who are female, under 30 years old and specialize in counseling and guidance activity, teach in small and rural school, serve as specially appointed counselor had higher professional growth need. 5. The method to release job stress and to assist professional growth need of junior high school counselors were proposed according to the study findings. Finally, suggestions for Manager educational administration institution, schools, as well as counselors and people to conduct further studies were established by combining the results of this study with information from relevant literature to offer as references. 劉曉芬 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 181 zh-TW
