These themes will be discussed in particular to Tanizaki’s three literature, “Shisei”, “Chijin no Ai” and “Syunkinsyou”. Firstly, the origin and the significance of the Body Theory will be discussed before applying them to the literature, “Shisei”, “Chijin no Ai” and “Syunkinsyou”. Hence, in the first chapter, the Body Theory of Japan and that of the Western will be introduced and contrasted in accordance with Yasuo Yuasa’s analysis. Secondly, the characteristic of “Woman’s Adoration” will be discussed and explore in three different themes, Masochism, Fetishism, and The Significance of Fairness. Of which, The Significance of Fairness is the most important theme. After going through the turns of events in “Shisei”, “Chijin no Ai” and “Syunkinsyou”, it can be observed that The Significance of Fairness is most prominent in “Syunkinsyou”. During the process of emphasizing The Significance of Fairness in “Syunkinsyou”, the Beauty of Shadows is found to be related and accompany this theme closely. In order to find out if Jun''ichirō Tanizaki discover the Beauty of Shadows in “Syunkinsyou”, his later works “In Praise of Shadows”is referred to and explored. Lastly, when adapting Hiroshi Ichikawa’s theory of “’Body as Intricate Body’’ to explore “Shisei”, “Chijin no Ai” and “Syunkinsyou” in the third chapter, it is discovered that Androcentrism and Feminism are embodied in the characters of the literatures. From the discussion of the Body Theory in exploring the themes in “Shisei”, “Chijin no Ai” and “Syunkinsyou”, it can be observed that Androcentrism and Feminism exist in these three literatures simultaneously.
