Chapter 1 (Introduction) demonstrates the motive and purpose of this thesis study. Discuss predecessors’ related researches and documents, and make the research plan of this thesis study. Chatper 2 (Li Ruiqing’s life, circle of friends) describes the life of Li Ruiqing. Starting from his early youth, he accompanied his father who was a government official and participated in imperial examination in his youth. Then he served as a government official in Jiangnan and dedicated to education. At the end, he lived seclusively in Shanghai and sold paintings and books for living. It shows how his assiduous study of calligraphy, sacrifice and dedication in education, book-selling life in Shanghai, and family influenced his study and aesthetic conception. Chapter 3 (Li Ruiqing’s calligraphy origin) concludes the origin of Li Ruiqing’s calligraphy based on collection of information, analysis of models of calligraphy, and the appraisals of other commentators. His calligraphy was influenced by his family and he accomplished his exquisite achievement through hard works and efforts. Originally, his great Regular Script and Fame capability is due to his excellent Clerical Script and Seal Script capacity, and his excellent Clerical Script and Seal Script capability is due to his exceptional Bronze Inscription, especially Sam Family Plate Inscription. Chapter 4 (Li Ruiqing’s Calligraphy art theory)analyzes the two important books of Li Ruiqing’s works: “Qingdaoren Heritage Sets” and “List of Qingdaoren’s Calligraphy Comments,” and discusses in two categories: “calligraphy origin and calligraphic stylefont class” and “his way to learn calligraphy” to demonstrate his theory. Chapter 5 (Li Ruiqing’s Calligraphy Performance) demonstrates Li Ruiqing’s exsiquite capability in all kinds of calligraphic stylefonts and how his state of mind changed as time changed. Moreover, it classifies his works into early and late stage to observe how he used brushes and the formation of his calligraphic style. Chapter 6 (Li Ruiqing’s achievements, appraisals and influences in calligraphy) concludes that Li Ruiqing’s achievements in calligraphy should be classified in calligraphy theory and calligraphy performance, and analyzes people’s comments on his calligraphy. At the end, it demonstrates his big influence in his apprentices, calligraphists of the same and later period. Chapter 7 (Conclusion) summarizes previous chapters and concludes them. Hence, this thesis study provides better understanding of Li Ruiqing: his origin, theory, comments of his calligraphy and theory, achievement and influences. 余崇生 2013 學位論文 ; thesis zh-TW
