The three research purposes are as the following. a. To understand Jan Ji’s trait and personality to be a revolutionist from a stable public school teacher. b. Jan Ji should take the responsibility for the failure of Taiwan peasant movement or not as the result of his left-wing ideology of leading Taiwan peasant movement instead of moderate petitions and requests . c. In the point of view that the Japan colonial government attributed Taiwan peasant movement to class, ethic and political reasons, the peasant movement was the ethnic campaign, the class campaign or struggle for people necessity and right Jan Ji devoted himself to Taiwan peasant movement which went stronger and stronger. As mentioned in Jan Ji’s Prison Diary, “It was totally wrong that we would yield to the Japan colonial government under the oppression of Japanese government.” Even he was sent to prison twice, he never gave up fighting against the colonizing government. The peasant movement Jan Ji piloted was an epic achievement. 秦照芬博士 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 124 zh-TW
