Methods: The study applies a self-prepared “Telephone Questionnaire Survey on the Health Status of Retired Athletes” to conduct survey on 349 alumni graduated from Taipei Physical Education College (average age is 51.8±10.28 years old), yielding 117 valid questionnaires. The data acquired were analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and Single ANOVA, Chi-Sqaure. Outcome: There are more than 82.1% of retired athletes maintain exercises at least 3 times a week, and they have the habit of weight control, however, 41.8% of the retired athletes have the habit of drink. The chronic diseases happened, gender and education are related to the health behavior. About 64.5% have chronic diseases at least one , the ratio of the blood fat is the highest (32.7%), the high blood pressure (27.3%) is less than the blood fat, the chronic diseases happened in woman is lower, and over 54.5% present the health symptom related to sport specialty. Whereas the athletes with graduated from training school and sport injury tend to have worse health. Conclusion: The retired athletes are more positive than adults for exercises, only 13.6% of them have no exercise habit, less than adult in Taiwan never take exercise proportion (50.3%) In National Health Interview Survey before 2001. However, the factors of sport injury and health behavior have affected the health status, therefore, we proposed improving the life quality after retirement: A. In order to reduce the occurrence of sport injury, we should enhance related the education of sport injury and preventive health concept for different expertise; B. In order to concern and teach health behavior correctly, this study found that the person of drinking, smoking and betel chewing, among them 85% have the behavior as above .
