In this study we using the thermography and fluorescent camera to capture human fluorescent tear film simultaneously, to see whenever tear film thermo pattern matches fluorescent tear film break up pattern.
Sixty four eyes of 64 subjects was diagnosed with no sign of ocular surface damage and current drug was used.
We set up a system measuring the fluorescent thermo image and fluorescent image of the tear film simultaneously. This measurement performed by a fluorescent light camera and the thermography. Each subject was measuring 6 seconds after a blinking for right eye. And then measured and analysis the center position, overlapping and correlation of both patterns. The correlation between two kinds of break up in position was 0.98, the shape correlation was 0.6, respectively.
Then we evaluate if the thermo tear film break up time were able exam the dry eye patient, in this study we compare the result of fluorescent break up time. The thermo break up time detected the dry eye with the sensitivity of 0.86.
The thermo fluorescent break up pattern was identical to the fluorescent break up pattern, and the thermo tear film break up may be a tool to exam the dry eye.
